This page is called "About me" but it's a bit misleading. This page is more about the site than the creator. I created this site "a bit too much..." as a creative outlet to force myself to create content instead of consuming it.
The name of the site comes from the idea of publishing every thought, no matter how big or small, every attempt at making art, my thoughts on books and music, so that I can come back and reflect upon them later on in life.
There will be a huge amount of posts with little to no quality controll, Hence the name "a bit too much..."
The goal of this site is to hopefully show people the amount of work you have to put into a craft before it starts to pay off. I want people to see my mistakes and thoughts so they themselves may find the courage to fail and post their thoughts.
I took a lot of inspiration from different sites on the website hosting site Neocites. But out of all the beautiful sites that could be found on Neocites the one that I took most inspiration from is the amazing site titled “Twelve Men”. It's a great site that's filled with beautiful art and great layouts / colors. When I first visited it I knew immediately that I had to make something similar to push myself to create more often.
If you visit the site you will immediately see the influnce, i also took their red-background png to create this sites page backgrounds.
I watched quite a lot of youtube videos, the problem is that there are lots of different videos that say conflicting stuff. I recommend you to try and build your site then when you have hit a block to research different ways of archiving your desired look / layout of the site. My tip is to learn flexbox display in css because it’s easy to use and makes most simple layouts without any issues. Here is a great video that I used to learn flexbox.
